Hend’s emotional story gives us a glimpse into the life of a refugee. No one chooses to be a refugee, but many are forced into this situation because of religious affiliation, race, or war/violence in their nation. This is where USA for UNHCR comes in to provide clean water, food, and shelter for refugees just like Hend.

Years later, Hend went on to work with USA for UNHCR, helping to change the lives of others who were experiencing the same trials she had encountered.
